Portfolio Development for Prior Learning
Description
The portfolio is the written documentation that verifies college-level
learning gained through life and work experiences. Significant
learning can be from work, volunteer experiences, non-credit courses
and seminars, travel, or hobbies. Credit will be awarded based
on college-level competencies documented and demonstrated by the
portfolio. Students must take the Portfolio
Development for Prior Learning course (SLS 1371) in order
to submit a portfolio. A separate portfolio must be submitted
for each course for which the student is requesting credit. Florida
Community College reserves the right to delay recording transfer
credits on the student's permanent record (transcript) until the
student has successfully completed college-level course work at
Florida Community College at Jacksonville, satisfied Florida Community
College at Jacksonville residency requirements, and/or provided
appropriate documentation or verification of student competencies.
