Food Manager Training and Testing National Registry of Food Safety Professionals logo.


Florida Community College at Jacksonville offers food manager workshops each month, with the National Registry's Food Safety Manager Certification Examination offered immediately after the training. The National Registry Food Safety Manager Certification Examination is a State of Florida approved food manager certification exam.

Daily Testing

Daily Food Safety Manager Certification Examination testing is also available Monday–Saturday, by appointment. PC Food Safety exams are $62 and paper/pencil Food Safety exams are $57. Call us at 904.632.5020 or e-mail assessme@fccj.edu for available test dates and times.

Persons desiring a paper-based bilingual Food Manager exam will need to pre-pay for their exam. The cost is $60 and will be ordered from the test vendor. It will take approximately one week for us to receive your exam. Bilingual exams are available in Arabic, Chinese: modern and traditional, French, Japanese, Korean, Spanish and Vietnamese.

Food Manager Workshops

The food manager workshops are held at the Urban Resource Center located at 601 W. State Street in downtown Jacksonville. Free parking is available for all workshop attendees.

All workshops begin at 9 a.m. and last until noon. Pre-registration for the workshops is not required; however sign-in for the workshop and testing beigins at 8:30 a.m. The workshop and examination covers the 2005 FDA Food Code. The two-hour National Registry Food Safety Manager Certification Examination begins at 1 p.m. Most examinees finish the exam in less than two hours.

The cost of the workshop is included in the testing price. However, there is a $25 charge for persons attending the workshop, but who will not be testing.

The two-hour National Registry Food Safety Manager Certification Examination is available immediately after the workshop. PC Food Safety exams are $65 and paper/pencil Food Safety exams are $60. PC exam space is limited and is offered on a first come basis but can be prepaid prior to the workshop. Email assessme@fccj.edu or call 904.632.5020 for more information on reserving a PC exam seat.

The paper/pencil exams are available in English only.
