Ronald W. Allen, CFP

Mr. Allen is founding director of the Institute for Financial Studies at Florida Community College at Jacksonville (FCCJ) and an instructor for the Institute's CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ Certification Education Program, which qualifies individuals for the CFP® Certification Examination. Mr. Allen is himself a Certified Financial Planner professional and a Registered Investment Advisor. He is a founding principal for Bull & Bear Capital Advisors, Inc., which specializes in both small business and personal financial planning. He has served on the boards of the Jacksonville Society of the Institute of Certified Financial Planners and the Financial Planning Assocation of Jacksonville.

Institute for Financial Studies

The Institute for Financial Studies at Florida Community College at Jacksonville provides educational programs and customized contract training in the financial services field. Degree and certificate programs, as well as continuing education for professionals are offered in financial planning, insurance, banking and employee benefits administration. The financial planning certificate program is registered with Certified Financial Planner Board of Standards, Inc. and is designed to meet the educational requirements for professionals seeking the CFP® Certification.

In addition to educating students and professionals, the Institute is dedicated to educating consumers in personal financial planning. The Institute regularly sponsors seminars, workshops and presentations that are open to the public or provided to groups through contract with employers, clubs and other organizations. Consumer education is further provided through media appearances, including National Public Radio's "Jacksonville Exchange" program aired locally on 89.9 FM.
