Environmental Science

Environmental Science Degrees and Certificates
The Environmental Science program is designed to provide and to enrich the student's basic skills, knowledge, and abilities in the fields of environmental compliance and technology and to enable the students to gain entry-level employment in the field. This program focuses on federal regulations for environmental protection, worker health and safety and homeland defense. Credit can be obtained through completion of the required degree courses and/or evaluation of government/military/industry training. To learn more about online classes, you are welcome to attend an on-campus orientation or visit the introduction to online learning.

The degree available:

The A.S. degree is intended to prepare students for employment or for transfer to a state university.

There are two technical certificate options available:

The Hazardous Materials Technician and the Assessment and Safety Compliance Specialist certificates will prepare students to manage hazardous waste, to respond in the event of an hazardous incident, and to properly collect, analyze, and interpret the results of quality air, aqueous and solid environmental samples in a safe and efficient manner.
