SOC Agreements

Servicemembers Opportunity Colleges (SOC) Consortium colleges and universities are dedicated to helping servicemembers and their families get college degrees. Military students can take courses in their off-duty hours at or near military installations in the United States, overseas, and on Navy ships.

Florida Community College is a member of SOC. Military students who are pursuing a degree or certificate at the College are eligible for a SOC agreement. This agreement will protect your credits as you transfer from duty station to duty station and, if needed, from school to school.

Florida Community College has specific degrees listed as a SOC Degree Network degree. To be added to his list, the degrees have been identified by the military services as a degree of interest for their population. Servicemembers are not limited to pursue the degrees on this list, and a SOC agreement can be provided for any Florida Community College degree or certificate. For a list of the SOC Degree Network degrees, click here. For a complete list of all Florida Community College degrees, click here.

To request a SOC agreement, read the information below. You may request an agreement online or by fax.

If you are enrolled in Florida Community College courses and previously submitted your official military transcripts, there is no need to submit a SOC Evaluation Request Form. Upon submittal of your official military transcripts and completion of two courses (six semester hours) at Florida Community College, your official evaluation is automatically processed. If your address has changed since your last enrollment, please log into Artemis and make the correct changes.

To be eligible for a SOC agreement, all students must:

Upon receipt of the required documents, U.S. Navy students will be able to view their SOC Student Agreement at https://smart.cnet.navy.mil/. Log on to view your SMART, and click on the option to view your SOCNAV agreement. All other military personnel will be mailed an official SOC Student Agreement within 3-4 weeks.

Note: SOC Evaluations are generated once enrollment has been confirmed and military transcripts are received; for a thorough evaluation students must submit official transcripts from previously attended educational institutions prior to submitting official military transcripts to Florida Community College at Jacksonville.
